A recent journey took me to the beautiful island nation of Sri Lanka. Surrounded by the endless expanse of the Indian Ocean washing upon its shores, this small island nation relies heavily on fishing for subsistence.

Everywhere you look in the coastal villages, you see different styles of local fishing vessels, some for coastal fishing, usually day trips, and others set up as deep-sea fishing boats that spend months at a time at sea.
This is my experience of beginning to understand Sri Lanka and its offshore fishing fleets, meeting exceptional people along the way, and learning their stories while digging into the world's largest mobula fishery.
Story coming soon. All images are shot by me, and I have a large assortment of video documentation.
